The bar was worn on the WW1 Iron Cross ribbon and indicated that the wearer had received the 1914 Iron Cross in WW1 and then been awarded the 1939 Iron Cross in WW2.
This silver coloured metal badge has four flat prongs on the back which allow it to be mounted onto a 6" length of WW1 Iron Cross ribbon.
