Designed originally in the Late 1960's and was issued to British Special Forces, it gained a high reputation and quickly became popular by acquire for Infantry Combat soldiers.
The escape ration pouch was made to fit the small sized mess tin with the rations packed inside in case of an emergency when out on operations behind the lines. The pouch was made of the standard Green 1958 webbing and features a metal QR Buckle, twin belt loops to allow pouch to be carried in the lower slung position and a waterproof lining.
