Designed originally in the late 1960's and to be issued to British Special Forces, they gained a good reputation and these quickly became very popular items to acquire for Infantry Soldiers.
The Twin ammo pouch was made to fit the 20rd 7.62mm SLR Rifle magazines, each pouch could carry 2 magazines making a total of 4 magazines per twin pouch. The front section of each pouch was slightly wider to carry grenades. The pouch was made of the standard Green 1958 webbing and features a metal QR Buckle ,twin belt loops to allow pouch to be carried in the lower slung postion and a waterproof lining.
