This Badge set would have been worn by all Infantry soldiers of the 1st Battalion Black Regiment, 154th Brigade took part in the Normandy landings, Landing on D+4. then remained attached to the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division it was sent over the River Orne spending 2 months under command of 6th Airborne Division, taking place in the battles for Breville and Colombelles
He was a member of the 51st Division and so wears the Div patch, Brigade patch and Infantry Arm of service stripes ( Junior Brigade) on both upper Arms with his Regimental Tartan below these these.
