1st Air Cavalry Division Patch Yellow and Black Full Size Air Cav Shoulder Patch
1st Air Cavalry Division patch. Full colour air cav badge.
This is the full size shoulder patch of the US first air cavalry division. This patch is worn on the upper arm (shoulders) of the combat uniform and dress unifoms of the American 1st air cavalry division.
One of the most famous American military units, partly due to films like "Apocalypse Now" and "We were soldiers", where the helicopter scenes are very memorable, but mainly the 1st Air Cav. is famous for its battles in the fields and mountains of Vietnam.
This is the full colour version which was worn in the early part of the Vietnam war on the combat uniforms like the OG 107 shirt, during the war the US Army issued subdued insignia to be worn in the field but some of the soldiers from the 1st Air Cav. continued to wear the full colour shoulder badge throughout the war.
The full colour patch was also worn on the A class dress uniform and is still worn today on the A class dress tunic.
