Fixed 1st model Liner Chinstrap for the WW2 M1 Helmet Liner

M1 helmet 1st model leather chinstrap for the first WW2 liner.

The first M1 helmet helmets where made with liner that has distinctive sliver grey coloured rayon webbing suspension on the inside, they also has a different leather chinstrap on the liner compared to the later and more common M1 helmets.

The chinstraps on the helmet liners on the first model M1 helmets where riveted into the sides of the liner, the later and more common liners had a removable chinstrap.

This 1st model chinstrap was used on the Fibre liners, like the Hawley liners and the early St Clair liners.

This reproduction leather chinstrap is brown in colour with two rows of indents or creases running along the length of the chinstrap. At each end there is a metal bar with a hole in so it can be fixed into the liner. A square metal buckle allows it to be adjusted in size. Two rivets and 2 washers are also included so all you need to do is make a hole in the side wall of your liner and rivet in the chinstrap. 

Maximum length 50cm including the metal parts (holders) that fix into the liner, it can them be adjusted down in size.
