Summary

2nd lieutenant British Airborne Division, England 1944

This British Officer is part of 1st or 6th Airborne Division and is dressed for duty while based at his airfield waiting to board a Dakota airplane to jump into Normandy, early in the morning of June 6th, 1944, in Operation Overlord as part of 6th airborne division. He would also have worn this uniform when going home on leave or if he manages to get a 48hr leave pass for some R & R.

He has managed to acquire a US Army Officers collared shirt which were much more comfortable quite possibly on one of his visits to a US Officers mess which he wears with a british woollen tie.

His Denison has been converted to a full zip which was common as its more practical for Officers to wear and on his feet, he has the Officers brown ammo Boots with a pair of gaiters.

He also wears his Airborne BD trousers only issued to parachute troops with his Red Beret and Para cap badge.
