American Civil War Tarred Haversack Black
The haversack in the American Civil War was the rucksack of its day.
A basic shoulder bag to carry all your personal gear and food.
This haversack is made in the tarred design (tarred is basically painted canvas) and was generally issued to the Union troops. Like a lot of union issue gear it was sort after by Confederate troops.
The ACW tarred haversack features:
- The haversack measures 25cm high 23cm wide and 9cm deep.
- The fixed shoulder strap is 53mm wide and 130cm long.
- The flap is secured by a single buckle and strap.
- The haversack has a single compartment with a removable, button in white cotton bag. It is held in place with 3 buttons.
- The white cotton bag on the inside can be used to divide the bag if needed.
- Tarred black finish on the outside, the tarred finishing makes the bag more weatherproof than untreated cotton versions.
