American Red Cross (A.R.C.) Hospital and Recreation Uniform Set
This Grey Ward Uniform Set was officially called the "Hospital and Recreation corps uniform" and was worn by volunteers in the ARC who served on the wards. The ladies that wore this grey dress were nick named the "Grey Ladies".
The American Red Cross ward dress has removable grey shoulder epaulets so they can be washed, white cotton removable collar, a grey cotton adjustable waist belt and the A.R.C. ward dress is worn with a white coif style hat with a grey backing and red cross in the centre
The ARC ward dress was worn with low heeled white shoes with white and grey hose (tights) and for keeping all there personal items when coming and going off Duty she carries a Black leather ARC handbag
Also the H.R Nurse wore a special metal red cross Hospital and Recreation corps pin badge above the red cross patch on the chest pocket.
