The B5 is a brown leather ankle boot with a leather sole which was studded with metal studs. The uppers are a heavy leather with the rough side out which is also oiled. It is distinctive due to its square toe shape.
During World War one the B5 boot was used throughout most of the Great War (from 1915) by the British Army including Kitchener's Army so was worn at most of the major battles of WW1 like the Somme.
