This version by Denix allows you to load 3 replica bullets into the lower chamber, you can then pull down and back up on the under lever which will load a replica bullet into barrel and cock the hammer. After you have pulled the trigger you work the under lever again which will eject the bullet from the barrel (flies out the top) and loads another bullet into the barrel.
As this firearm has a mechanism and appearance of before 1870 it can be sold to any persons over the age of 18 years upon receipt of valid ID.
It does not come under the VCR act, so you do not need to be a member of a re-enactment group to purchase this replica. The most popular calibre was the .44-40 Win. as you could have one cartridge that could be used in your revolver and rifle which made life easier for the cowboys in the wild west. The 44-40 Win. was also called .44 Winchester Centre Fire or .44 WCF.
The Model 1873 Winchester can be seen in many western photographs in the hands of cowboys, gun fighters and bank robbers as at the time posing for a photograph with your favourite gun was a popular thing to do. The only photograph of Billy the Kid was taken on the front porch of a building in Fort Summer, New Mexico Territory during the Autumn of 1880, shows him holding a Winchester Model 1873.
