The CIB has black embroidery on a green background.
The American Combat Infantry Badge (C.I.B.) 1st award is the same as the Infantryman's badge but has the wreath around it.
This was awarded was given to any soldier who had seen active frontline service.
It was awarded to all ranks from Private up to and including Colonel.
