Confederate M1855 Leather Belt and Brass Oval CS Buckle

£29.99 £24.99

American Civil War black leather belt with a oval brass buckle which has the letters "CS" on it.

The is the standard belt issued by the US before the war and the Confederate copied the belt and changed the buckle. Various buckle designs where made by the south during the war but the "CS" in an oval was one of the most popular.

The M1855 leather belt is just under 2" wide and is available in two sizes. The brass buckle is fixed onto the belt in the original way as it was designed.

The Southern Confederacy soldiers used a lot of captured equipment as well as the equipment issued to them by the South, the M1855 belt and buckle was no exception in many photographs you can even see the Confederate troops wearing the M855 belt still with the federal US buckle on the front.
