This is a full combat webbing set worn by a German Army Soldier serving in the DAK Deutsches Afrika korps in WW2 from 1941 to 1943 who would be armed with the German Mp40 Machine pistol.
This webbing set allows the German Army soldier to carry everything that he needs from ammunition for his MP40 to his entrenching tool to dig a trench to the bread bag to carry his rations and most importantly in the desert water.
The German Infantry DAK webbing set is built around the Canvas webbing equipment belt where the Mp40 ammunition pouches, entrenching tool, bayonet frog are fitted on the belt with the water bottle and mess tins clipped onto the Bread bag . The Y straps clip onto the Mp40 ammo pouches at the front and over the belt at the back. and the gas mask tin is slung over the shoulder.
