ERDL Camouflage Helmet Cover Dark Tone Green inside Original

We have uncovered these M1 helmet covers which are in the ERDL camouflage pattern.

These are original and unissued!

These have a dark tone to th ecolours and differ from the other covers we have as the inside of the cover is a solid light green, it is not reversible it is just the back of the fabric is green. The other colours are not coloured on the inside.

The ERDL camouflage helmet cover was first contracted to be made in 1969. These are from the last production contract of the ERDL camouflage pattern (1981) as the following year the woodland camouflage cover was contracted to be made.

These original helmet covers are only printed on one side. We have found 50 of these covers and although they have the same printing there seems to be two slightly different shades of the colour. This will be down to the printing of the camouflage rather than a different patetrn/colour. For ease we have split them into two and we are calling them light tone and dark tone, this is just for us it is not an official term or name.
