EREL Heer Recon Crusher Cap with Metal Eagle Insignia

WW2 German Army Recon Crusher cap made by EREL in Germany.

This version has the cockade made in Bevo and sewn onto the lower band and the Army eagle is the metal version which is pinned on.

The Offizierfeldmutze is more often called the "Crusher" cap due to its shape. When issued or purchased the cap would have had a metal wire on the inside of the crown to keep the top of the cap flat, this would be removed and the sides folded down to give it a field worn or veteran look which gives the cap its crushed look.

This is a top quality reproduction of the German WW2 crusher cap worn by the German Heer Recon. This cap is made in Germany by EREL who was a wartime hat manufacturer in WW2 for the German Army and still makes caps today.
