French FNFL Commando Sleeve Patch
French 1re Compagnie de fusiliers-Marins Commandos
Know as the FNFL this French commando unit landed on D day at Ouistreham 6th June 1944.
this patch was originally a sleeve badge worn with the French title and commando but was latter replaced by the commando combined ops patch.
In 1943 the green commando beret was issued and so this FNFL patch was sewn on to the beret as a cap badge
in May 1944 this was replaced by the Bronze cap badge
