German WW2 Gas Cape Bag Cotton by RUM
This is a late war cotton bag to hold the gas cape, it is a non-waterproof bag.
According to a regulation in March 1940 the gas cape was to be kept with the gas mask at all times. The lightweight bag was designed to fit onto the carrying straps on the gas mask tin with the two sewn on loops on the back of the bag. It was uncomfortable to carry the gas cape bag hanging off the straps so it was more often strapped around the gas mask tin.
The bag is closed by two press studs.
