German Folding Spoon and Fork
German folding aluminium spoon and fork set.
These are one of the styles of eating utensils used by the German army in WW2.
This set is very lightweight as it is made of aluminium, the design is very good as a space saving and to reduce weight.
When it is packed it looks like the handle is too short but that is because the spoon and fork are riveted together by one rivet so you slide them apart and keep turning the handles 180 degrees till they lock out. You then have a full size fork with a spoon on the other end.
The theory was that you didn't need another knife as most soldiers would have a pocket knife already.
The handles is stamped TSR 42.
