German Merit cross medal ribbon on a backing plate.

This is the small size ribbon which is the correct size for the ribbon bars worn on the tunics. The ribbon is wrapped around a metal backing plate so it can be mounted onto the German ribbon mounting bars that we sell separately, the ribbon mounting bars are available in different sizes to accommodate various numbers of ribbon bars.

What you get is a metal backing plate which has a spike on each side sticking out to the back, the ribbon is wrapped around the backing plate then a piece of double sided tape is placed onto the back of the ribbon.

To mount onto a ribbon mounting bar you simply push the tape down ono the ribbon, to make sure it is secure, then peal off the double sided tape and push the two spikes through the matching holes on the ribbon mounting bar. Push the ribbon onto the bar and then bend over the two spikes on the back to secure it onto the mounting bar.
