This was worn on the side of the Bergmutze field cap by German Army "Gebirgsjager" Mountain troops.
This edelweiss is the Man's and NCO's version which is a two pieces badge. The main badge is made in antique nickle then the second part of the badge is a gold coloured center to the edelweiss.
Correct WW2 design.
