German WW2 Sniper Badge 1st Class by RUM
Cloth sniper badge worn by German soldiers in WW2. This is the first class award which has gold coloured wire braid around the edge.
The gold grade was awarded for 60 confirmed kills.
The badge was permitted to be worn by personnel from:

- Waffen SS
- Luftwaffe ground troops

The Sniper's Badge was awarded from the 20th August 1944 initially to the Army and Waffen SS but later it was extended to all branches of service.
It was awarded in one of 3 classes depending on the level of the soldier. The badge was worn on the upper right forearm above all other insignia on field tunics and other combat smocks but not the greatcoat.
