Worn in the " Dads Army" TV series on Battle dress uniforms by all ranks from Capt. Mainwaring to Private Pike.
In WW2 the badges would represent the district that they served ie KT for Kent and the Number was for the company or section depending on size.
CP1 was invented for the film means Colin & Perry who were the writers of the series
