M1 Paratrooper helmet D bales for US WW2 para helmets Pair.
Set of D bars for the early M2 Paratrooper helmets.
The early US Para helmets where made with D bales, the bales are where the canvas chinstrap are sewn onto the helmet.
They where shaped this way to help the chinstrap move as the loose end was clipped into the liner. Most D-Day paratrooper helmets where made with the D bales, after D -Day they where made with standard fixed bales as the D bales often broke on the helmets as they stick out too much.
This is a set (2) D bales with flatten ends so you can remove your standard bales and weld these on instead to make yourself a D-Day M2 paratrooper helmet.
Price is for 2 D bales (enough for one helmet) and does include any chinstraps etc.
