M1928 Doughboy Pack haversack pack tail extension
The American M1928 haversack often called the Doughboy pack was the standard back pack used in WW2 by the American Infantry.
This is the pack extension or tail which fits onto the bottom of the haversack to give extra carrying capacity, it used when carrying full equipment with rations.
