M1928 Haversack US WW2 Doughboy Pack by Combat Serviceable

M1928 doughboy pack. 

The M1928 Haversack was the standard haversack (rucksack) issued to the American Infantryman in WW2. It was worn throughout world war two by all dismounted infantry, so not paratroopers.

It could be used as a light assault pack, which is this set up consisting of the main pack and the front pouch (holds the mess tins). The M1928 haversack could also be worn as a complete field pack by adding the lower pack carrier (pack tail) which gave it extra carrying capacity to carry extras like a blanket roll to carry spare underwear and a blanket etc. The pack tail is available to purchase as an optional extra and is not included in the price.

The M1928 haversack is similar to the WW1 M1910 haversack and is often called the Doughboy pack, like the M1910 was called.

Made by Combat Serviceable this reproduction has all the features of the original such as:

• Removable front pouch which holds your mess tins (meat cans) and cutlery (Knife, Fork and spoon set).
• Hanging tabs with two eyelets on the side to fix the bayonet onto the side of the pack.
• Hanging tabs with two eyelets on the back behind the mess tins pouch to fix the entrenching tool onto.
• Built in carrying (shoulder) straps are fully adjustable.
• Front shoulder straps adjust from 35cm to 66cm.
• Back straps are adjustable from to 14cm to 31cm.
• Front flap is secured by a single strap.
• The main body is closed by 3 straps.
• Holes around the bottom to fix the optional pack tail on (pack tail not included).
• U.S. printed on the front.
• Combat Serviceable 1942 printed on the back.

The M1928 haversack has built is carrying shoulder straps so you do not need the M1936 suspenders, the shoulder straps clip directly onto the M1936 pistol belt, M1923 Garand belt or the M1937 BAR belt (no belt is included in the price).
