M1943 Entrenching Tool Cover by Kay Canvas

American M1943 entrenching tool carrier in the early OD#3 colour.

The pouch has belt fittings on the back and is designed to fit the US Army M1943 folding entrenching tool, or as it is often called the M43 E tool.

This Premium quality webbing pouch, is made by Kay Canvas using the best fabrics. The metal is brass not steel and the cotton canvas webbing has the correct weight and weave of the originals for a high quality pouch. These are as good as originals, they just do not have that old musty smell to them.

The M43 E tool carrier or cover has a single metal wire belt hook sewn onto the back so it can be attached onto a belt (pistol belt, Garand belt or BAR belt) or a pack like the M1928 haversack.

On the inside the corners are reinforced with leather and a canvas strip is sewn in the middle of the flap to prevent wear and tear just like the original M43 E tool carrying pouch.

The M43 E tool was introduced during WW2 and replaced the old WW1 designed T handle shovel. The M43 E tool had a folding head so it could be used as a pick or a shovel by turning the angle of the head. The folding head also made it easier to carry.

Stamped on the front with "U.S." and "Kay Canvas" on the inside.

The cotton canvas is a bit heavier and sturdier than the standard replicas and it is made in the WW2 OD#3 colour which is normally called tan or khaki.
