M56 Field Pack Canvas Vietnam M56 Butt Pack
US M1956 combat field pack often called the M56 butt pack, although it was officially called the Pack, field. This is the type used by all US troops in Vietnam.
This was worn at the back of the M56 individual belt and the suspenders clip onto the eyelets on the back of the butt pack. The butt pack fastens onto most belts by two standard US metal belt clips. This is a replica of the second pattern butt pack with the waterproof neck which was in use from 1961, so covers the Vietnam war.
