M6 Leather Scabbard for the US Army M3 knife

Replica of the M6 leather scabbard for the US Army's M3 knife.

This reproduction sheath is the one that was issued with the US M3 knife when it was first issued. The M6 leather sheath can be seen being used in Normandy and is the sheath that is most associated with being worn on the ankles of the US paratroopers. 

This M6 leather knife sheath has the features of the original including;

• Metal teeth guard on the throat.
• Belt hook on the back.
• Two slots cut into the leather so it can slide onto a belt or fix a leg strap through the slots.
• Metal plates on the bottom to prevent the knife blade tip cutting through. 
• 6 diamond shaped rivets.
• Hole which is reinforced with a rivet in the bottom of the sheath for a leg tie. Leg tie is not included.
• Leather is nice quaility in a nice brown colour. 
• Strap with stud closure to fasten around the handle of the knife.
• The scabbard is stamped on the front "U.S. M6 1943" 

You may need to work the knife into the scabbard to shape the leather to the blade, so they will be a tight fit when you first put a knife in. They will shape with some use.
