MK1 helmet liner, this is the early 1st model liner that can be used on the MK2 tommy helmet from 1938 to 1942, it was used by the British Army as part of the BEF in France 1939/40 and then retreated to Dunkirk in may 1940.
The liner is also seen in RAF and ARP helmets.
