WW2 British Army Officer's 1937 BD (battledress)  blouse by Kay Canvas 

 British Army Officer's would often have the standard issue 37 BD tunic tailored so it could be worn with a tie and look smart.

The 1937 BD tunics have been modified with a lined open collar to give a typical war time tailored look to an Officer's uniform,.

These are worn with the standard 1937 BD trousers.

Features:

• Tailored collared so it has an open collar to be worn with a shirt and tie.
• With the open collar design there are no top button or metal hook clasp to fasten the collar tight around the neck.
• Extra wool lining on the open collar, than on the standard 1937 BD tunic, for a neater look.
• Panel of silk type fabric on the back part of the inside of the collar to stop the wool rubbing your neck.
• Brass dish shaped button which are all covered.
• 2 x Breast pockets which are pleated.
• 2 x Cotton inside pockets.
• Built in waist belt.
• Shoulder epaulets which are fastened down with plastic buttons.
• Adjustable cuffs.
• Made of Wool Serge 

The wool fabric that Kay Canvas use in there Battle dress uniforms is specially blended  using 1940 techniques and old vintage period mills. Everything from the spinning to the blending and dying of the colour of the wool is done exclusively for Kay Canvas.
