This Officers Uniform set represents a RAF Flight Lieutenant who is based at RAF Scampton in Lincoln whose job it is the Navigate the Wellington Bomber to bomb Northwest Europe during 1942-45

This Navigator is a old veteran Officer who saw service in the Great War of 1914-1918 and can proudly wear his WW1 trio ribbon bar below his Navigators Wings on his BD jacket, Air crew who reenlisted in the forces in WW1 could still be as young as mid 40's.

This uniform would have been worn on the Air base when on duty and out of camp when off duty maybe having a pint down the local or traveling home by train.The Uniform has much changed since 1940 in the Battle of Britian wearing the now general Issue Battle Dress uniform issued to both Officers, Sergeants. Over his shoulder is his trusty Haversack containing all his flask and sandwiches .
