R.A.F. Sheepskin Flying Jacket
This model offered here is typical of that which was worn from 1941/42. The RAF jacket is made to a high quality, and authenticity has been strictly adhered to throughout, offering the most avid enthusiast a jacket of high accuracy.
The sheep skin leather outer is very soft and supple and the wool inside is very plush. The collar folds up and can be fastened keeping you neck warm. The sleeve cuffs feature heavy duty zips as does the front, a storm flap on the inside of the front zip helps retain warmth.
The Original Aircrew Jacket was approved by the Air Ministry in 1931 and its production was contracted out to many manufacturers and not just to the Irvin parachute Company, as commonly believed which lead to it being called the "Irvin flying Jacket". Many models were manufactured and we offer the most common model issued to all aircrew during WW2.
