Rebuilt MKVII Original WW2 Gas Mask Bag

This is an original WW2 Gas Mask bag which we have had rebuilt and a new longer shoulder strap to fit modern people.

The original bags are now 80 years old we have been finding that the neck strap and the webbing connecting the Metal O rings can become rotten over such a long time. We have carefully matched the exact webbing weave of originals and stripped the bags back, rebuilding them with the original metal fittings. In 1940 the average height was 5ft 7" but now people are much bigger so we more than doubled the strap length to 150cms plus making the webbing a bit tougher for extra strength.

• Herring bone weave shoulder strap same as originals
• Maximum length of strap 180cms (to fit up to 50" chest)
• Minimum length of strap 90cms (same length as an original)
• Original metal fittings O rings and shoulder strap slider 
• Webbing strap thicker than original for extra strength
• Brass studs have been doubled checked and tested.

MKVII Gas mask bag details

• Overall bag size: 10” x 10” x 3” inches
• The main compartment is split into 2 sections (Canvas divider could be cut out)
• 2 flat rear internal pockets 4” x 10” and 5” x 10”
• 1 flat front internal pocket 8” x 8”
• 2 brass mesh vents on base
• Top flap fastened by 2 large brass press studs
• Dated 1941 or 1942
• Various makers marks/names 

The bags are all unissued dated 1941/1942 but may contain some storage marks due to age.

Please note as these bags are all originals the stamping / markers will vary and so will colours/shades
