This Badge set would have been worn by all soldiers in the Royal Artillery on their BD Battle Dress uniform in Operation Overlord the Invasion of Normandy as part of the 7th division when they arrived in in June 1944,
He was a member of the 7th Armoured Division and so wears the Div patch and Artillery Arm of service stripes on both upper Arms with his Regimental shoulder titles above these. Being a member of the Royal Artillery he would also wear a white Lanyard around his shoulder.
