He wore two different uniforms during the filming of It ain't half hot mum, one was in Khaki Drill, like this uniform set, and the other in jungle green.
He was a regular soldier with 17 years service enlisting around 1928 and had been on active duty serving in the Indian on North West Frontier between 1936-39 continuing throughout the war in Burma.
