Colour/Staff Sergeants Red Sash
The red sash is worn by many members of the British army but was originally worn by an Infantry Soldier in battle who was in charge of holding the regimental colours together with a junior officer (ensign) which then acted as a rallying point in the confusion of battle.
The red sash is worn over the right shoulder .
Now used in the British Army by
- Drill Sergeants,
- Duty NCO's
- Senior cadet
The sash is available in two sizes
32" long to fit approx. up to 42" chest
36" long to fit approx. over 42" chest
