Original WW1 British Brodie Mk2 Helmet
This is an example of a British WW1 MK2 Brodie Helmet still with the leather chinstrap and metal buckle, The helmet has some of the textured paint mainly around the outer rim with a red star unit identification badge painted on the front
The helmet steel shell is stamped with the makers initials and name (HS 368) Hadfield’s Limited Sheffield plus the company that rolled the steel which is the number 368
The original oil cloth liner is still in good condition, flexible and not sticky
Chinstrap is marked with soldiers Initial MRI and number 976405
This is the British model helmet with the chinstrap hangers attached by split pins instead of rivets as used on US WW1 Helmets
The liner has no Rubber doughnut ring so was before1917 before the rubber doughnut was added
