RAF 1936 pattern Black Leather Flying Pilots boots
RAF catalogue number 22C/80
The 1936 pattern Flying boot will always be synonymous with RAF Battle of Britian Pilots as it was most most popular boot worn by both Spitfire and Hurricane pilots during those dark days in 1940. The 1936 pattern was a much loved boot and was still seen worn for many years afterwards including after the war by Motorcycle riders.
This 1936 model flying boot is made just like the original, its a pull on leather flying boot with a tightening buckled strap across the V at the top, made from smooth black chromed leather with a thick made shearling liner. The sole is made of smooth leather which has been sewn through and a stacked leather heel with a nailed on rubber heel proctor just like the originals. Leather pullers sewn on the inside help you fit into the boot.
