The MK3 helmet was worn by D-Day Assault troops during the Normandy invasion on the 6th of june 1944 in operation Overlord.

The MK3 helmet was worn by D-day Assault troops during the Normandy invasion on the 6th of 1944 in operation Overlord.
These MKIII helmets we bought many years ago and have decided to leave them in the original patina aged finish as they look the correct period. They have seen much service and are in various finish some with number barely visible others with pieces of different paint finish.
The MK3 helmet is made from the following parts:

- MK3 Chinstrap Original
- Screw in liner replica
- Sizes 56 to 62cm
We have wire brushed them back to the base and have been treated, but not repainted. also included is an original unissued MKIII elasticated chinstrap and a new replacement liner of your size choice.
The MkIII helmet was worn throughout WW2 from 1944 to 1945 mainly by British Infantry Soldiers and still saw active service latter until replaced by the MKIV which looked the same but had a pull the dot liner and the chinstrap handers were fixed in a different position.
