The Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry, 8th Armoured Brigade is the Armoured unit choosen to be represent in the 30 Corp Route March in 2024
The Sherwood rangers were first Yeomanry ashore in France on D-Day, landing two minutes before H hour in DD Sherman Tanks then It took part in the liberation of Bayeux and was in the thick of the tank fighting around Caen using Sherman firefly Tanks.
The Regiment was then part of the rapid advance which followed across Northern France, Belgium and Holland. The Sherwood Rangers were in the 8th Independent Armoured brigade which was part of XXX Corp in operation market Garden and in its Reconnaissance Troop was the first British unit to enter Germany.
