BSM Williams was in charge of the Royal Artillery Concert Party in the Jungles of Burma just before the Japanese surrendered on 15th August 1945, but he was a regular soldier with 17 years’ service enlisting around 1928 and had been on active duty serving in the Indian on North West Frontier between 1936-39 continuing throughout the war in Burma.
