Long Service Good conduct medal could be awarded after 15 years of unblemished service
It could also have been worn by an old sailor who was either a career man and served since WW1 or re-enlisted back in WW2 as the average age of a WW1 veteran in WW2 would have been 35 years.
The ribbon bar comprises the:
- Royal Navy long service Good Conduct
- The 1914 Star or 1914-15 star
- British War medal
- Victory medal
All bar the LSGC were respectively, commonly referred to as Pip, Squeak and Wilfred.
The ribbons are on a single bar with a pin on the back for attaching to your uniform.
