When the WAAF were tasked with operating  Anti Aircraft Balloon sites and working as mechanical fitters in 1941, it was found that the issued WAAF Service Dress was not suitable for those jobs and so they took to issuing mens battle dress uniform. The WAAF were soon issued with their own special clothing including boots, battle dress slacks and jacket.

These Kay Canvas slacks are like the wartime issue with 3 buttons on a each side, adjustable elasticated waist band and no tabs on the lower legs.
