French IndoChina Vietnam Windproof Camouflage Full Zip Jacket

Originally Issued in 1943 as an Overhead Smock to be worn over BD Jacket and jumper in cold weather in North West European campaign. They proved very popular with soldiers as a lightweight camouflage Smock, but many were Modified with a full length zip.
They were then issued and worn post WW2 by the French Foreign legion in Vietnam during the First Indochina war from 1946 -1954

You can see that in the many pictures of French Soldiers in Vietnam that they modified there issue windproof smock usually by local tailors in the back streets of Saigon. Some French soldiers had a simple zip installed while others had the hood modified with an open collar, there does not seem to be any standard modification so this one is based on a general over view.

This jacket has had a full length vintage brass zip installed and the hood has been completely changed to an open collar which is now camouflage on both sides

The colouring and Pattern were very distinctive which was large and irregular print with sharp edges and some that look like they were applied by a brush.
