Imperial Germany 1914 WW1 Iron Cross 2nd Class Nickel Silver by RUM

Imperial German 1914 Iron Cross 2nd class made from nickel silver.

This is the second class grade of Iron Cross which was worn suspended from a ribbon.

This version is a quality badge made from nickel silver metal for that extra touch and includes the correct WW1 ribbon which is black with 2 white stripes.

The Iron cross has the German Imperial crown with the letter W and the date 1914 on the front of the cross. The design on the back has the Imperial crown with the letters FW underneath the crown and 3 oak leaves in the middle of the cross and the date 1813 at the bottom.

The 1914 iron Cross 2nd class was an award issued for bravery in the field or for military contributions while in a battlefield.
