This Fallschirmjager helmet belongs to the 6th Battalion of the 2nd Parachute Division and is finished like a veterans helmet from the Normandy front where they fought around Carentan and Falasie
Finished in a textured 3 colour paint including a light green for the summer in Normandy with scratches chips and rust
A rust wire from a fence has been fixed to allow the paratrooper to fit on some camouflage garnish
The liner and chinstrap have also aged to complement the shell

During the Allied D-Day landings on June 6, 1944, the 6th Regiment was stationed in the Carentan near the US 101st's drop zones. The regiment was heavily engaged in the subsequent battles, including at Saint-Lo. On June 13 the remainder of the division was transferred to Brest in western France. In July, the surviving elements of the 6th Regiment were caught in the Falalise Pocket and destroyed during the Allied advance.
