M38 German Paratrooper Helmet 5th FDJ Ardennes December 1944
This Fallschirmjager helmet belongs to the 5th Parachute Division and is finished like a veterans helmet from the Ardennes front where they fought around Bastonge against the Allied Forces which is known now as the Battle of the Bulge.
Finished in a textured coloured paint in a dark Green with light Dunkel gelb colour for the dark forests of the Ardennes in winter with scratches chips and rust
A rusty wire from a fence has been fixed to allow the paratrooper to fit on some camouflage garnish as this late in the War there was no air cover and so personal camouflage was very important
The liner and chinstrap have also aged to complement the shell
