German WW2 Black Leather Map Case by RUM
German WW2 Meldekartentasche, black map case.
This is the model 1935 leather map case which was issued from 1936 to the German Army.
The M35 map case is made of quality leather with a ripple (granulated) pattern to the outside which was to try to prevent glare from the sun in the field.
The map case carried rulers, compass, maps and pencils and was worn on the belt.
This is the black version which is the standard issue for the German Army and SS.
The German WW2 leather map case features:
- Two belt loops on the back which can be adjusted in height.
- Single strap closure on the front.
- On the front there is a sleeve for a ruler, 7 pen or pencil slots, elevation/angle tool.
- Main compartment for maps is divided into two.
- Quality black leather with black stitching.
- Marker mark on the back with 1940 date.
