This was the original 95th Rifles, that the fictonal Richard Sharpe served.
The Rifle Brigade was formed in 1802 to 1816 as 95th Rifle Regiment and then renamed from 1816 to 1966 as Rifle Brigade until merged to form the Green Jackets.
The battalions served mainly in North Africa with the British 8th Army, the 1st battalion part of 7th Armoured Division invaded both Italy and Normandy fighting all the way through North West Europe.
